Sarah has been passionate about the practice and study of art for as long as she can remember. She participated in such prestigious programs as Ryman Arts at the University of Southern California (USC), California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) at CalArts, Center for Creative Youth (CCY) at Wesleyan, and took Drawing courses at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned her undergraduate degree. She is an illustrator and painter with a focus on exploring gender ambiguity, motherhood and the fluidity of female identity. She is attracted to exaggerated bodies and forms, and seeks to find the beauty in the grotesque. Her influences include Robert Crumb, John Currin, Hieronymus Bosch, and a variety of traditional African artists.
